Lounge, Bossanova, Cocktail Pop, Indie Pop
    Bass

My dirty little secret was that I'd never owned a suit before I gigged with this well-dressed band.

    Indie Pop, Indie Rock
    Bass

Played bass with Downpilot for a few months before their original bassist decided to rejoin. Short stint for me and I never got to record with Downpilot, but I'm a huge fan of Paul's songs so I gotta give them props.

    Americana, Alt Country
    Bass, Keyboards, Acoustic Guitar

Fulfilled two life-long music dreams by going on tour with a band and recording an album that had a barcode on it. We were critically well received but rarely ventured out of Ballard. Eventually the singer/songwriter quit the band and moved to L.A. like a true rock star. But not before I learned a ton of stuff about recording from him.

My favorite song is probably Duchess of Hazard

Honkey Tonk, Classic Country, Western Swing
    Bass

After a brief stint in complex Seattle pop band Epigene, I went to the other end of the spectrum and got a classic country education by playing with the Shiners. I used to hate country just as much as you do...but now I know what Grampa knows. We were a bar band, playing three hour sets and getting drunks to dance in varying degrees of earnestness to old-school country. To this day I know of no other country band which based a love song on quantum physics. Band split when the singer/songwriter decided he was too old for the music racket, broke up the band and moved back South.

My favorite song is probably Meant to be Mean

    Solo recording project
Guitar, Keyboards, Vocals, Bass, Drums, Percussion, Production, Engineering, Mixing, Mastering

National Solo Album Month is an annual challenge where musicians endeavor to produce an entire album by themselves within a single November. Participants must play all roles through the process: writing all the songs and lyrics from scratch, singing and performing all instrumental parts, producing and engineering the recording, and mixing and mastering the final product. A successful attempt must run at least 29:09 in length, and one cover song is allowed. So far, I've finished three times and failed once. My attempts are chronicled over here.
